OopsFix Privacy Policy

Overview

OopsFix is a Chrome extension that provides spell checking and translation inside Chrome Side Panel.

Data We Process

  1. Text you enter in the extension input fields.
  2. Your Gemini API key (if provided in settings).
  3. Local UI preferences (selected tab, last used language/tone, local draft state).

How Data Is Used

  1. Input text is sent to Google Gemini Developer API only to generate spell-check or translation results.
  2. API key is used only to authenticate requests to Gemini API.
  3. Local preferences are used only to improve user experience in the extension.

Storage

  1. chrome.storage.sync:
    • API key
    • language/tone preferences
  2. chrome.storage.local:
    • temporary view state and latest input/output text

Data Sharing

  1. We do not sell user data.
  2. We do not share your data with third parties except Google Gemini API, only for processing the text you submit.

Retention

  1. Data stored in Chrome storage remains until you remove it, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension.
  2. API processing retention by Google follows Google's own Gemini API policies.

Security

  1. We avoid logging sensitive content in extension code paths.
  2. Your API key is stored only in Chrome extension storage on your account/device context.

User Controls

  1. You can clear input/output fields from UI.
  2. You can replace or remove your API key in settings.
  3. You can uninstall the extension to remove stored data.
